We introduce a class of sparse matrices U m (A p 1 ) of order m by m, where m is a composite natural number, p 1 is a divisor of m, and A p 1 is a set of nonzero real numbers of length p 1. The construction of U m (A p 1 ) is achieved by iteration, involving repetitive dilation operations and block-matrix operations. We prove that the matrices U m (A p 1 ) are invertible and we compute the inverse matrix (U m (A p 1 ))?1 explicitly. We prove that each row of the inverse matrix (U m (A p 1 ))?1 has only two nonzero entries with alternative signs, located at specific positions, related to the divisors of m. We use the structural properties of the matrix (U m (A p 1 ))?1 in order to build a nonlinear estimator for prediction of nearly periodic time series of length m with fixed period.  相似文献

The classical Kramer sampling theorem, which provides a method for obtaining orthogonal sampling formulas, can be formulated in a more general nonorthogonal setting. In this setting, a challenging problem is to characterize the situations when the obtained nonorthogonal sampling formulas can be expressed as Lagrange-type interpolation series. In this article a necessary and sufficient condition is given in terms of the zero removing property. Roughly speaking, this property concerns the stability of the sampled functions on removing a finite number of their zeros.  相似文献

A method for studying the one‐dimensional heat transfer process within an inhomogeneous spatially bounded medium in the presence of an external heat source is presented. It is based on a recently introduced technique for solving problems related to Sturm–Liouville equations that consists in the representation of solutions in the form of a spectral parameter power series. We consider a heat transfer model linked to photoacoustic and show that the introduced method, besides its relative simplicity and analytical nature, offers an efficient numerical algorithm as well as a convenient way to work separately with different physically meaningful components of the temperature distribution function. We consider the inverse source problem for a time fractional diffusion equation. The unknown source term is independent of the time variable, and the problem is considered in two dimensions. A biorthogonal system of functions consisting of two Riesz bases of the space L2[(0,1) × (0,1)], obtained from eigenfunctions and associated functions of the spectral problem and its adjoint problem, is used to represent the solution of the inverse problem. Using the properties of the biorthogonal system of functions, we show the existence and uniqueness of the solution of the inverse problem and its continuous dependence on the data. In this paper, we study self-dual permutation codes over formal power series rings and finite principal ideal rings. We first give some results on the torsion codes associated with the linear codes over formal power series rings. These results allow for obtaining some conditions for non-existence of self-dual permutation codes over formal power series rings. Finally, we describe self-dual permutation codes over finite principal ideal rings by examining permutation codes over their component chain rings.  相似文献

High-dimensional time series may well be the most common type of dataset in the so-called “big data” revolution, and have entered current practice in many areas, including meteorology, genomics, chemometrics, connectomics, complex physics simulations, biological and environmental research, finance and econometrics. The analysis of such datasets poses significant challenges, both from a statistical as well as from a numerical point of view. The most successful procedures so far have been based on dimension reduction techniques and, more particularly, on high-dimensional factor models. Those models have been developed, essentially, within time series econometrics, and deserve being better known in other areas. In this paper, we provide an original time-domain presentation of the methodological foundations of those models (dynamic factor models usually are described via a spectral approach), contrasting such concepts as commonality and idiosyncrasy, factors and common shocks, dynamic and static principal components. That time-domain approach emphasizes the fact that, contrary to the static factor models favored by practitioners, the so-called general dynamic factor model essentially does not impose any constraints on the data-generating process, but follows from a general representation result.  相似文献

A Chebyshev interval method for nonlinear dynamic systems under uncertainty   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2  
This paper proposes a new interval analysis method for the dynamic response of nonlinear systems with uncertain-but-bounded parameters using Chebyshev polynomial series. Interval model can be used to describe nonlinear dynamic systems under uncertainty with low-order Taylor series expansions. However, the Taylor series-based interval method can only suit problems with small uncertain levels. To account for larger uncertain levels, this study introduces Chebyshev series expansions into interval model to develop a new uncertain method for dynamic nonlinear systems. In contrast to the Taylor series, the Chebyshev series can offer a higher numerical accuracy in the approximation of solutions. The Chebyshev inclusion function is developed to control the overestimation in interval computations, based on the truncated Chevbyshev series expansion. The Mehler integral is used to calculate the coefficients of Chebyshev polynomials. With the proposed Chebyshev approximation, the set of ordinary differential equations (ODEs) with interval parameters can be transformed to a new set of ODEs with deterministic parameters, to which many numerical solvers for ODEs can be directly applied. Two numerical examples are applied to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method, in particular its ability to effectively control the overestimation as a non-intrusive method.  相似文献

This study developed a model of undeformed chip thickness in micro-end-milling for the use in estimating cutting constants based on measured cutting forces. The proposed estimation method is based upon the invertibility of the average milling force model. In this paper, chip thickness in micro-end-milling was estimated by summing the thicknesses of the conventional chip component and the additional chip component. Thickness was then expressed in terms of Fourier series. The analyses showed that the fast convergence of Fourier series gives the Fourier chip thickness model sufficient accuracy when using only five terms of the truncated Fourier series for common micro-end-milling processes. The Fourier coefficients can be expressed in terms of the ratio of feed per tooth to cutter radius for different numbers of cutter teeth. The accuracy and conciseness of the chip thickness model enables the modelling of average cutting force in a closed form, which can be applied to identify the cutting constants. Cutting force experiments verify that the model prediction agrees very well with the experimental results.  相似文献
